I tried to install different drivers, 7600m they didn’t work properly and I’ve even got windows’ blue-screen after installing one of them. It’s a bit old thread, but for the folks with the same problem it seems that now ATI started winows support switchable legacy graphics with their latest 88 now it boot up as it should without any two minutes timeout.
Update the HD graphics driver part of optional update of Windows 8 to the latest. I followed your description and since then the problem is solved. When two upgrade to Windows I updated to Windows 10 yesterday morning from Windows 7 Home Basic. Or try to execute the above program and it will ask if you wish to reboot into Safe Mode.
I’m happy now and there is no need to rollback to my previous OS Windows 7.
I’m having the same issue with the Radeon Crimson, using R9 x and there seems to be nothing wrong with it when it comes to windows 7, problem must be the drivers.
